Music Projects by John Manura
I started playing the accordion when I was 7 years old and still play it today mainly for my own enjoyment. So over the years I have made a few projects relating to music including a Spanish guitar, bongo drums and a music stand.

Spanish Guitar
The summer after my freshman year in college I made this Spanish Classic Guitar. This proved to be a great learning experience. I learned steam bending of wood, inlaying, purfling, carving and general guitar construction. The skills that I learned in this project were beneficial for my future projects. |

Bongo Drums
I made these bongo drums in 1963 when I was taking geometry in high school. I used compound angles to cut the staves for the drums on my dad's radial arm saw. Again a great early learning experience. |

Music Stand
I custom designed this music stand for playing my accordion. It is made from solid cherry wood and has inlays on the surface. |
