This video describes the production of a micro miniature double dizzy bowl. This dizzy bowl project is only 2.5 inches tall and it contains more than 5,000 wood pieces exposed on its exterior surface. The project was started by producing laminated discs 1.25" in diameter that contained 33 wood strips. The laminated discs were sliced to 0.025" thick and then 75 of these discs were re-glued back together rotating each disc by about 2 degrees during the assembly. Then 24 segment walnut rings were added to the top and bottom of the assembly.

Then 24 segment walnut rings were added to the top and bottom of the assembly. The Segmented Dizzy Platter was finished with several coats of Bush Oil and then 5 coats of polyurethane finish. This micro miniature double dizzy bowl completes the set of 4 double dizzy bowls that range is size from 24" tall to 2.5" tall. |
