Production of the Segmented Wood Egg - 4500 Wood Segments
This segmented wood egg contains more than 4,500 wood segments. This 4.75" inch tall wood egg contains 47 segmented disk layers each 0.10" thick and each layer containing 96 alternating segments of Padauk and Maple woods. The egg is 90% solid with the center sections hollow. The top and bottom sections were made from a 12 segment Katalox disc, with each of the segments going to a perfect point in the center. This is undoubtedly one of the finest segmented pieces that I have made.
