Production of the Segmented Bowl - Tornado Pattern
Segmented discs each containing 18 segments were sliced the thin layers and then reglued back together rotating each layer by one half the width of the segments. Top and bottom rings were added to accent the bowls. A selection of bowls described below were made using this technique.

Segmented Tornado Pattern Bowl ART020
(ART020 - $250.00) Each segmented disc layer contains 18 segments. A total of 25 layers each 0.100" thick of the alternating woods Walnut and Maple were used to produce the tornado pattern in the bowl. In total this bowl consisted of 31 segmented disc layers, 18 segments per layer for a total of 450 total segments. The top rim is an 18 segment Maple ring. The base is an 18 segment disc with a wagon wheel pattern of Maple and Walnut woods. Click on the video below to see the rotation of this bowl. |

Segmented Tornado Pattern Bowl ART006

A total of 38 layers each 0.100" thick of the alternating woods Walnut and Maple were used to produce the tornado pattern in the bowl. In total this bowl consisted of 44 segmented disc layers, 18 segments per layer for a total of 792 total segments. The top rim is an 18 segment Maple and Katalox rings. The base is an 18 segment disc pattern of Maple and Walnut woods. |

A total of 13 layers each 0.100" thick of the alternating woods Walnut and Maple were used to produce the tornado pattern in the bowl. In total this bowl consisted of 6 segmented disc layers for the center tornado pattern of discs. An additional 5 segment rings of walnut and maple were added to both the top and bottom of this bowl. In total there were 13 layers in this bowl which provides for 234 segments in this bowl. |

In total there were 31 layers in this bowl which provides for 558 segments in this bowl |
