The production ofDizzy Pattern Eggs. The laminated boards described in part one of this series were used to produce two Dizzy Eggs. The procedures described include cutting the laminated discs , gluing up the disc layers and then tuning the egg on the lathe. We also demonstrate the variation in the dizzy egg patterns that result from changing the angle of rotation of the laminate disc layers.

Dizzy Egg ART037
(ART037 - SOLD) This Dizzy Pattern Egg is 3.5" Tall x 2.5" in Diameter. It contains 37 layers each 0.100" thick and each layer comprising 67 strips of wood. That equates to over 4,000 wood surface exposures in this egg. At least 14 different natural woods were used to product this Dizzy Egg. |
Dizzy Egg ART038
(ART038 - $200.00) This Dizzy Pattern Egg is 4.25" Tall x 3.25" in Diameter. It contains51 layers each 0.100" thick and each layer comprising 91 strips of wood. That equates to over 8,000 wood surface exposures in this egg. At least 14 different natural woods were used to product this Dizzy Egg. In the middle of the egg the rotation direction was reversed giving this unique patter with a heart shape in the center of the egg. |

That equates to over 8,000 wood surface exposures in this egg. At least 14 different natural woods were used to product this Dizzy Egg. This egg uses the same layers discs as the egg above. However in this egg the rotation angle was not reversed. |

This is a set of two Dizzy eggs with the angle of rotation reversed between the two eggs. |
