This is a sampling of the many Segmented Wood Bowls that i have produced over the past 5 years. ManY of the bowls have some unique feature rings that have been described in some of my videos on producing feature rings. All natural woods are used for these projects. The following three videos demonstrate how some of these bowls were made as well as the feature rings.

Segmented Bowl 067
(ART067 - $300.00) This is one of my early bowls with a unique feature ring. The main body of the bowl used Limba wood - 12 segments per ring. The feature ring was 24 segments per ring and comprised Walnut and Maple woods in these rings. |

Segmented Bowl 068
(ART068 - $250.00) For this Segmented Bowl I used a sequence of 3 contrasting woods in the rings and rotated the rings to get the pattern shown. I then inserted a 0.100" thick segmented Cherry wood spacer between every three layers to offset the pattern. The bottom of the bowl is a segmented Cherry ring with a feature ring insert (not shown). |

Segmented Bowl 073
(ART073 - SOLD) For this Segmented bowl I used Walnut, Cherry and Padauk to create the patterns in the bowl. I then produced segmented rings of Maple, Walnut and Cherry for the top rings and Walnut for the bottom. However when turning this bowl on the lathe I went too far down and blew out the bottom. Therefore this bowl is NOT FOR SALE. |

(ART076 - $100.00) For this Segmented Bowl I created an 18 segment Walnut ring and then inserted 0.050" wide spacers between each wedge. I slice 0.050" thick slices from theis disc and reglued the rings as shown. This was made before I developed better techniques to more accuratedly align the layers. The top rings are made from Maple and Walnut. The bottom ring is a Walnut and Maple Feature ring (Not Shown). |
