Production of the Double Dizzy Bowls
Over the past two years I created a set of Double Dizzy Bowls, the largest being 24" tall with more than 60,000 wood surface exposures and the smallest being only 2.5" tall with more than 5,000 wood exposures on its outer surface. Videos were made during the construction of each of these Double Dizzy Bowls. These projects combine the art of making conventional dizzy bowls with the techniques used in segmented woodturning.

Super Double Dizzy Bowl
(ART025 - $25,000.00) This is the largest and most complex Double Dizzy Bowl of this series. This Double Dizzy Bowl is 24" tall and contains more than 60,000 wood exposures on its outer surface. This project took me more than 3 months to complete and an estimated 600 hours of labor. The initial cost of the wood alone for this project was over $2,000. Medium Double Dizzy Bowl
(ART026 - $3,000.00) This Double Dizzy Bowl was made from one of the additional laminated boards and the center sections from the construction of the Super Double Dizzy Bowl above. Miniature Double Dizzy Bowl
(ART027 - $1,000.00) This is my favorite of the double Dizzy Bowls. It is only 6" tall, each of the layers is 0.075" thick and in total it contains more than 13,000 wood surface exposures on its outer surface. Micro Double Dizzy Bowl
(ART028 - $250.00) This is the smallest of the set of 4 Double Dizzy Bowls. This Double Dizzy Bowl is only 2.5" tall and it contains more than 5,000 wood pieces exposed on its outer surface. Ths project was started by producing laminated discs 1.25" in diameter that consisted of 33 wood strips some as thin as 0.007" thick. The individual layers are only 0.025" thick.
